Your animal is very important to us, Your Country Groomer would like to assure you that every effort will be made to make your pets grooming experience as safe and pleasant as possible. Safety comes first for everyone, people as well as the animals during the grooming process.
Accidents
Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails etc… Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If Your Country Groomer feels it is serious, and the owner is not on-site or cannot be reached, Your Country Groomer will seek immediate Veterinary care for your pet.
Health or Medical Problems
Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner upon signing this agreement.
Veterinarian Authorization-Medical Emergencies
This release gives Your Country Groomer full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies while in the care of Your Country Groomer. All veterinarian costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the animal’s owner.
Current Vaccinations
Although we do not require up to date vaccinations to provide our services, we strongly recommend that they are up to date with rabies, DAPP and Bordetella. By signing this form, you are acknowledging that you are potentially exposing your pets to infectious illnesses. Your Country Groomer will not be held liable for any medical bills accumulated resulting from this. We do strongly recommend any pet that may bite be up to date on the rabies vaccine. Please bring any copies you have of vaccination records for our file.
Fleas/Ticks
If your pet has any fleas while in our care, Your Country Groomer has authorization to perform a flea bath at your added expense. There will also be an added charge to cover the cost of fumigation to prevent contamination to other pets that enter the premises. Your Country Groomer does our due diligence to prevent exposure to other pets, however if your pet is not on a monthly flea treatment there is still a possibility of exposure. Your Country Groomer will not be held responsible for any charges that result from this.
Dangerous or Aggressive Animals/Refusal of Service
Your Country Groomer has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Your Country Groomer has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during or after grooming and client will be charged a grooming fee (for what was done up until that point)
Use of Muzzles
Muzzling does not harm your animal and protects both the animal and the groomer. In some cases, muzzling may even calm a stressed animal, allowing the grooming process to continue. If an animal still acts in a way that is dangerous, Your Country Groomer has the right to stop grooming services at any time and a service fee will be applied. We do not muzzle unless your pet gives us a reason to. Other methods are used to calm your pets, muzzling is the last resort.
Matted Coats
Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet’s skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infections. Your Country Groomer will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks or abrasions due to the skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pets skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioural changes. Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 4-6 weeks. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by signing below, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is time consuming because we must go slowly and take care, and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. The additional charge is typically $1/minute extra it takes beyond the normal grooming time.
Cancellations/No Call/No Show/Late
In order to create a quiet and calming environment for your pet and to give them our one-on-one undivided attention during their stay, we book one pet at a time. Each scheduled groom is given an allotted time slot and cancellations can leave an empty block in the schedule that could have otherwise been used by another guest. We ask that any cancellations are made at least 24hrs in advance. After 3 short notice cancellations or no shows we will have to request that all future appointments be pre-paid at time of booking. Also realize that if you are late to an appointment, it not only pushes back ALL our appointments for that day but it also means that we may end up with multiple pets in our salon at the same time which can create stress for some of our guests. Because of this we ask that you call to inform us if you will be late so we can determine if we should reschedule your appointment or if we can still make it work.
Duty To Disclose
Your Country Groomer requests the owner to disclose and continue to disclose on an ongoing basis, any and all medical or other conditions, including concerns or behaviours that may affect, limit or prevent the pet’s ability to be at Your Country Groomer.
Payment
Please understand that due to the nature of pet grooming, all quoted prices prior to actually grooming your pet are only estimates. Final price will depend on the treatment of each pet and condition of its coat. Payment is due at time of pick-up.
